After pressure from the Democrat machine from President Obama on down for New York governor David Paterson to forgo a run for the seat he currently holds, Paterson has decided he won't run for the guv. Paterson stepped into the chair after Eliot Spitzer resigned in the wake of your typical Democrat sex-with-whores scandal.

Paterson, after defiantly proclaiming he'd run, has been under a lot of pressure to step back.

from the NY Times 9/19/09:

"Gov. David A. Paterson defiantly vowed to run for election next year despite the White House‘s urging that he withdraw from the New York governor’s race."

Since there's been rumors of drug use, Paterson's own sex scandal and of late this:

"Paterson been under fire for contacting a woman who accused one of his top aides of domestic violence."

Paterson's being investigated by N. Y. Attorney General (AND candidate for governor himself) Andrew Cuomo.

Paterson got the message. He saw the handwriting on the wall. He listened to the late night phone call:

'We're just getting started Mr. Paterson. These are pop guns we're firing right now. Step back before we bring out the heavy artillery.'
